Meghan Markle’s Former Palace Aide Speaks Out on Bullying Allegations

Meghan Markle faced accusations of mistreating palace aides in 2021, with claims of making staff members cry during her time as a member of the royal family.

Samantha Cohen, a former aide who worked with Meghan during her tenure in the royal household, recently addressed these bullying allegations in an interview with Herald Sun. Cohen confirmed that she was one of the 10 staffers interviewed as part of Buckingham Palace's investigation into the claims.

In her statement to the outlet, Cohen revealed her extended stay in the role, initially intended for six months but extending to 18 due to the challenges in finding a replacement. She recounted efforts to onboard a successor, including taking them on a tour to Africa with Prince Harry and Meghan, only to have them resign during the trip.

The accusations against Meghan emerged shortly after the Sussexes' revealing interview with Oprah Winfrey, where they shared insights into their experiences within the royal family. Among the revelations were allegations of Meghan causing distress to her assistants and contributing to staff departures from the Firm.

Meghan's legal team refuted these claims, labeling them a "calculated smear campaign" against her.

Following the investigation into the bullying allegations, a senior royal aide declined to disclose the findings after more than a year of inquiry.

Cohen's remarks offer insight into the tumultuous dynamics within the royal household during Meghan and Harry's tenure, highlighting the complexities of their relationship with palace staff amidst public scrutiny and internal investigations.
