Andy Cohen, a prominent US talk show host, has publicly apologized to Kate Middleton for propagating unfounded conspiracy theories about her prior to her cancer diagnosis announcement.
Last month, the 55-year-old faced criticism and calls for an apology after speculating about Princess Kate's whereabouts and making comments about a media-released video. His remarks intensified existing rumors, especially after Kate acknowledged editing a photo of herself and her children.
On his SiriusXM’s Radio Andy show, Cohen expressed remorse for his previous statements, particularly in light of the princess's health revelation. He stated, "I am genuinely saddened by Princess Kate's news. I've been called out for my previous comments, and rightly so. I deeply regret speaking without proper knowledge."
He further commented, "My thoughts are with Princess Kate and King Charles during this challenging time. We should all rally around them."
Previously, Cohen had fueled conspiracy theories by tweeting about a video of Kate visiting a farm shop in March and even discussed rumors about Prince William's fidelity on his Daddy Diaries podcast on March 22.
Following Cohen's apology, other commentators, critics, and even some supporters of Meghan Markle have also issued apologies for their previous remarks against Kate Middleton.
In the wake of these apologies, there are calls for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to address and rectify any hurt caused to Prince William and Kate through their past statements and actions.
