King Charles appeared visibly moved as he led the annual Service of Remembrance, joining key members of the royal family in a solemn tribute.
On November 10, Buckingham Palace shared poignant photos of the event, showing the King laying a wreath at the Cenotaph in memory of those who lost their lives in conflict. The royal family's message read, "We remember them. On behalf of the nation, The King lays a wreath at the Cenotaph during the annual Service of Remembrance."
In addition to King Charles, wreaths were also laid by Prince William, Princess Anne, and the Duke of Edinburgh. Representing Queen Camilla, who was unable to attend due to illness, a wreath was placed on her behalf, along with one for the Duke of Kent.
Princess Kate, Duchess Sophie, and other senior royals were seen observing the ceremony from the balcony of the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office, showing a united front during the sombre occasion.
Queen Camilla was notably absent, as she continues to recover from a chest infection. A Palace spokesperson explained, "The Queen has been advised by her doctors not to attend the Remembrance Day services to protect others from any potential risk." Despite her absence, Camilla is expected to return to her duties soon.
