Duchess of Sussex Struggles to Mend Ties Amid Beckham Fallout
Meghan Markle’s attempt to reconcile with old friend Victoria Beckham has reportedly been declined, marking a significant setback for the Duchess of Sussex.
According to royal commentator Ingrid Seward, the Beckhams are unlikely to repair their relationship with Harry and Meghan. Speaking to Fabulous magazine, Seward stated, “I only think they would reconcile if they come across each other, and I’m not sure that they really do. I can’t think that their paths would particularly cross again.”
A report from Closer magazine claimed Meghan hoped to rebuild connections, including with Catherine and Victoria Beckham, during the Christmas season. The Duchess viewed it as an opportunity to leave negativity behind and start 2025 on a positive note.
However, Seward dismissed the likelihood of reconciliation, noting Victoria Beckham’s packed schedule. “She’s got a business, a very successful husband, houses all over the place, and children. I don’t think she probably has any time to think about it really,” she said.
Seward also pointed out a deeper reason behind the distance, suggesting the Beckhams perceive Meghan and Harry as being "in the descendant, not the ascendant," in contrast to the Beckhams’ celebrated success story.
The commentator further lauded David and Victoria Beckham as a power couple admired for their “rags to riches” journey, in contrast to Meghan’s perceived “riches to rags” narrative.
