Prince Andrew Responds to King Charles’s Financial Cutback: 'I’ve Lost Everything'

The Duke of York feels the impact of Charles’s decision, claiming it has left him with nothing.

Prince Andrew is reportedly struggling after King Charles’s decision to slash his financial support, leaving him feeling increasingly isolated. The Duke of York’s reaction to the cutback was detailed by royal commentator Rupert Bell during a discussion on Times Radio.

According to Bell, the "disgraced" Prince’s issues stem from his own "stubbornness" and "arrogance," traits that have only added to his troubles. Bell remarked, “Andrew is often convinced of his own rightness, which has landed him in hot water. His refusal to compromise has caused many of these problems.”

The commentator went on to say, “He feels as though he’s lost everything, and if he loses his home too, it will only deepen that sense of loss.” Bell noted that the dynamic between Andrew and King Charles is tense, with the King pressuring Andrew to vacate the Royal Lodge in favour of the more manageable Frogmore Cottage.

Despite mounting financial difficulties, Andrew has refused to leave the Royal Lodge, standing firm against the King’s wishes. According to insiders, the Duke believes he can afford the upkeep and his own security, despite the substantial costs.

An insider shared that Andrew is “determined” to remain in the Royal Lodge, asserting he is no longer a “burden” on King Charles, who is facing his own health challenges. The source added, “He sees no reason why he should have to move from his home.”
