Prince Harry Reportedly Uneasy Over Trump’s New Appointments

Duke of Sussex faces fresh challenges as U.S. residency status comes under scrutiny.

As former President Donald Trump assembles his second administration, reports suggest Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may face tougher odds navigating their U.S. residency status.

Royal commentator Richard Eden, speaking on Palace Confidential, noted that Trump’s recent nomination of South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem to lead the Department of Homeland Security could bring added complications. The department oversees immigration and residency matters, which could affect the Duke of Sussex directly.

Eden speculated that Harry and Meghan might be “shivering” at the news, as the new administration may adopt a stricter stance compared to the previous one, which was reportedly more sympathetic to the couple.

Harry’s visa status has already been a contentious topic, with the conservative think tank The Heritage Foundation filing a lawsuit to release his immigration records. The case stemmed from claims that Harry may have omitted details about past drug use when applying for residency.

In his memoir Spare, Harry openly admitted to using substances such as cocaine and psychedelics, intensifying scrutiny. Although The Heritage Foundation lost its initial legal battle in September, efforts to overturn the ruling and make Harry’s visa records public are ongoing.

As Trump’s appointments shape the future of immigration policies, Harry and Meghan’s U.S. residency could face renewed challenges under stricter oversight.
