The Prince of Wales shares a heartfelt message amid concern over Queen Camilla’s health issues.
Prince William has issued an important statement following Buckingham Palace's announcement that Queen Camilla has paused her royal duties due to a chest infection. William, who is currently in Cape Town, South Africa, for the Earthshot Prize Awards, took to social media to share updates from his royal visit.
Today, November 6, the Prince of Wales posted about his meeting with the 2024 Earthshot Prize finalists at Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden. Alongside a series of photos, his spokesperson conveyed: "An inspiring morning meeting the Earthshot Prize 2024 Finalists at Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden! Each finalist brings a unique vision and groundbreaking solution, symbolising hope for a greener future. Tonight, we will reveal the winners of our five £1M prizes! #EarthshotCapeTown."
This message came shortly after Buckingham Palace announced that Queen Camilla is currently unwell with a chest infection. The official statement from the Palace explained that the Queen has been advised to rest, leading her to cancel her engagements for the week. However, it is hoped that she will recover in time for the upcoming Remembrance events.
The statement added, "Her Majesty apologises to those affected by this change and regrets any disappointment caused."
