Prince William’s Heartfelt Tribute to Africa Mirrors Prince Harry’s Sentiments

Brothers Find Common Ground in Their Deep Connection to the Continent

Despite ongoing tensions, Prince William and Prince Harry appear united by their shared love for Africa, a place both refer to as a ‘second home.’

During his recent solo trip to South Africa for the Earthshot Prize, the Prince of Wales spoke warmly about his bond with the continent. At an engagement in Cape Town, William shared, “Africa has been a significant part of my life since I was young. Every time I visit, I feel I can be myself and escape the pressures of everyday life. It’s a home away from home for me.”

William’s remarks echoed those made by his brother, Prince Harry, who has long expressed a similar connection. Just weeks before, Harry visited Africa to support his charities, including Sentebale, travelling through Lesotho and Johannesburg.

At the United Nations in September, alongside Queen Masenate Mohato Seeiso of Lesotho, Harry described the region as a sanctuary, saying, “The beautiful mountain kingdom feels like a home away from home. I was deeply moved by the resilience and courage of its people, particularly the children.”

While some reports suggest a possible easing of tensions between the brothers, there is no confirmed reconciliation. However, their mutual love for Africa remains a strong and enduring link between them.
