King Charles issues apology as Queen rests following chest infection
Queen Camilla has temporarily withdrawn from her royal duties this week to focus on her recovery from a chest infection. Following her recent tour of Australia and Samoa with King Charles, doctors have advised her to rest to aid in her recuperation.
A Buckingham Palace spokesperson confirmed, “Her Majesty The Queen is currently unwell with a chest infection, for which her doctors have advised a short period of rest.”
While expressing regret over canceling her scheduled appearances, Queen Camilla remains hopeful she will be able to participate in this weekend's Remembrance events. "With deep regret, Her Majesty has been compelled to cancel her engagements for this week, but she sincerely hopes to recover in time for Remembrance events," the statement added.
Royal observers are closely following her progress as she takes this time to restore her health, with many looking forward to her return to public duties.
