Sarah Ferguson Eases Pressure on King Charles Amid Prince Andrew’s Scandal

Duchess of York Praised for Thoughtful Decision to Maintain Low Profile

Sarah Ferguson has brought significant relief to King Charles III by stepping back from the spotlight amid the latest controversy surrounding her ex-husband, Prince Andrew.

The Duchess of York and Prince Andrew chose to skip King Charles’s pre-Christmas lunch at Buckingham Palace following the Duke’s ongoing spy scandal, which has once again cast the royal family in a negative light.

Royal commentator Sarah Louise Robertson commended Sarah’s decision to maintain a low profile, telling GB News: “Sarah Ferguson herself said, ‘Let’s not make any protests, keep our heads down, let’s not bring further embarrassment and cause trouble to the King and the rest of the Royal Family.’”

Robertson added, “Given what’s unfolded over the last week and the further embarrassment Andrew has brought upon the King and the Royal Family, they decided to keep a low profile.”

Instead of attending the gathering, Andrew and Sarah are spending Christmas at Royal Lodge, with their daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, celebrating the holidays with their respective in-laws. The Duchess has also predicted that Andrew will avoid the Sandringham walkabout, sparing the family additional public scrutiny.

Despite the challenging circumstances, Sarah recently expressed her admiration for King Charles in an interview with The Sunday Times, describing him as “kind” and someone who “makes me laugh.” She added, “I’ve known the King all my life and I absolutely adore him. I love that he still calls me Fergie.”

Sarah Ferguson’s thoughtful actions and public support for the monarch demonstrate her commitment to helping alleviate tensions within the Royal Family during a turbulent time.
