Duchess of York Highlights Breast Cancer Awareness for Beatrice and Eugenie
Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York, has opened up about her battle with breast cancer and the crucial advice she’s shared with her daughters, their daughters.
In an interview with Hello! Magazine, the Duchess revealed how a routine mammogram saved her life, emphasising the importance of regular health screenings. "I’m only standing here today thanks to a routine mammogram appointment that I almost missed," she shared.
Sarah has urged her daughters to be vigilant about their health, saying, "I’ve requested them to be breast aware because breast cancer can strike at any age." The Duchess stressed, "It’s vital that we take responsibility for our well-being. If you think something’s wrong, ask for help and don’t take no for an answer."
Reflecting on her journey, she described cancer as a life-altering experience. "It’s like a bomb going off in your life, affecting not just you but your entire family," she said.
Despite facing two cancer diagnoses, Sarah remains optimistic and continues to use her experience to raise awareness about the importance of early detection. Her heartfelt message to her daughters and the public underscores the power of proactive health measures in the fight against cancer.
