Duchess defends social media choices as Harry acknowledges public interest in family life
Meghan Markle has hit back at criticism accusing her of using Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet to promote her growing lifestyle brand, insisting she will not tolerate being labelled a “bad mum.”
The backlash emerged after the Duchess of Sussex began sharing rare glimpses of her children alongside the launch of several new ventures—including her Netflix cooking series With Love, Meghan, the rebranded lifestyle line As Ever, and her new podcast Confessions of a Female Founder.
Despite previously voicing strong concerns over her children’s privacy, Meghan’s recent posts featuring Archie and Lilibet sparked accusations of inconsistency. However, a source close to the Duchess told Heat World, “Meghan thinks it’s ridiculous that anyone would accuse her of being hypocritical or manipulative when it comes to their kids – she won’t let anyone call her a bad mum.”
The insider added that any decision to include the children in public content was “thought through extremely carefully,” stressing Meghan’s ongoing protectiveness as a parent.
Prince Harry, who has long prioritised privacy for their family, was reportedly initially concerned about the shift. But he has come to see it differently, according to the report, acknowledging that “they’re selling a lifestyle, and the kids are front and centre of Meghan’s life.”
He now feels it’s “fair and right” for the public to occasionally see “a glimpse of their domestic situation behind closed doors.”
While Meghan continues her media push with the latest episode of her podcast, Harry has remained active on his own front, recently making a high-profile visit to Ukraine for a charitable mission.
