Duchess recalls first meeting with Reshma Saujani during pregnancy with Archie
Meghan Markle has opened up about a meaningful moment from her time as a working royal, reflecting on a memorable meeting at Kensington Palace while pregnant with her first child.
Speaking with Reshma Saujani in the second episode of her podcast Confessions of a Female Founder, the Duchess of Sussex recalled their initial encounter in 2018.
Saujani, founder of the non-profits Girls Who Code and Moms First, joined Meghan for a candid discussion on women’s health, workplace redesign, and the importance of choosing well-being over burnout.
“Welcome, I’m so happy you’re here. It’s been a while,” Meghan said warmly. Reshma replied, “It’s been a long time since I saw you. Different circumstances!”
“Yes. Life was diff— well, I mean, we had met in 2018, I guess?” Meghan reflected. “Oh my gosh, yes. It would have been 2018, pregnant with Archie at Kensington Palace. I remember you came in, we sat in the audience room, and I just said, ‘Tell me all about it.’”
The nostalgic exchange offered a rare glimpse into Meghan’s earlier royal engagements and her ongoing commitment to women’s empowerment and leadership.
