Prince Harry has received a crucial update from his legal team regarding his ongoing battle for police protection in the United Kingdom, with sources suggesting a potentially favourable outcome could be on the horizon.
The Duke of Sussex, who stepped down from royal duties in 2020 alongside Meghan Markle, lost access to automatic police security upon leaving his senior royal role. Since then, he has launched multiple legal appeals seeking reinstated protection when visiting the UK, citing serious threats to his safety.
During a recent two-day court hearing in London, Harry’s lawyer, Shaheed Fatima KC, argued that the Prince's “life is at stake,” referencing terror threats and the increased risks stemming from his military background and public profile. The case marks his third attempt to overturn the government's decision, which currently allows security on a “case-by-case” basis.
Following the hearings, Harry admitted he felt “exhausted and overwhelmed,” revealing his “worst fears” had been confirmed throughout the proceedings. Yet, despite his emotional toll, new reports offer a glimmer of hope.
