Future King Focuses on Action Over Ceremony as He Prepares for the Throne
Prince William is setting aside traditional royal customs as he carves out a modern path toward his future reign.
According to The Times, the Prince of Wales is prioritising "projects not patronages," aiming to drive real-world change rather than uphold ceremonial duties. His focus lies on impactful initiatives such as tackling homelessness and addressing environmental challenges.
William Hague, former Foreign Secretary and a longtime collaborator with the Prince, shared insights into William’s proactive style. "He phoned me up after I left government with the idea that, since governments were moving slowly on illegal wildlife trade, we should get the private sector involved," Hague recalled.
Hague further described the Prince of Wales as personable but firmly "results-driven," highlighting his distaste for "lengthy meetings and endless discussions."
"You wouldn't want to tell him you've made no progress," Hague remarked. "William wants to see real, tangible change."
