Palace ‘Angry’ Over Prince Harry’s ‘Outrageous’ Claims in BBC Interview

BBC Issues Apology as Government Rebukes 'Stitch-Up' Allegation on Royal Security

Fresh turmoil has reportedly erupted within Buckingham Palace following Prince Harry’s explosive BBC interview, in which he claimed his legal loss over security was the result of an “Establishment stitch-up”—a remark that has triggered backlash from royal officials, the media, and the government.

According to The Mail on Sunday, insiders say Harry’s interview has only worsened his estrangement from the Royal Family, despite his public appeals for reconciliation. King Charles’ office—rarely known to comment on private family matters—was forced to respond, signalling the seriousness of the situation.

Palace sources said officials were particularly incensed with the BBC, accusing the broadcaster of failing to challenge Harry’s claims during the interview. The BBC has since acknowledged an editorial failure, stating:

“Claims were repeated that the process had been ‘an Establishment stitch-up’ and we failed to properly challenge this and other allegations. This case is ultimately the responsibility of the Home Office and we should have reflected their statement.”

Meanwhile, a government spokesperson clarified the security decision-making process, noting:

“All members work together to advise the independent chair on the protective security of the Royal Family and key public figures. These decisions have been taken by Ravec, not the Home Secretary.”

The public fallout has amplified scrutiny of Prince Harry’s ongoing legal battle and media engagements, further fuelling the divide between the Duke of Sussex and the royal establishment.
