Duke Faces Fresh Blow as Court Dismisses Case and UK Poll Shows Overwhelming Disapproval
Prince Harry has encountered another major setback after a UK court rejected his appeal for official security for himself, Meghan Markle, and their children.
The Duke of Sussex had sought to reinstate state-funded protection, which was withdrawn after he and Meghan stepped down from their senior royal roles in 2020. The court’s decision marks a significant defeat in his ongoing efforts to ensure safety for his family during visits to Britain.
Shortly after the ruling, Harry gave an emotional interview to the BBC, admitting he was “devastated” by the outcome. He expressed a wish to reconcile with the royal family but said he could not imagine bringing his wife and children back to the UK under current circumstances.
In the aftermath, Express.co.uk conducted a poll asking the British public whether the couple should return. An overwhelming 97 per cent of the 5,304 respondents voted against it, suggesting the Sussexes should remain in the United States.
Only 3 per cent supported the idea of their return, highlighting growing public resistance and further complicating Harry’s hopes of reconnecting with his homeland.
