Duke of Sussex Says Archie and Lilibet Can Only Visit UK With Invitation and Security Assurances
Prince Harry has stated that his children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, will not return to the UK unless he receives a formal invitation and adequate security arrangements are in place.
Speaking in a new BBC interview, the Duke of Sussex reflected on his failed legal battle over security and the emotional consequences of keeping his family away from Britain. “For the time being, it’s impossible for me to take my family back to the UK safely,” he said, adding, “I miss the UK… I think it’s really quite sad that I won’t be able to show my children my homeland.”
The remarks come amid King Charles’ ongoing health struggles and have reportedly caused further emotional strain between father and son. Harry clarified that he has not asked the monarch to intervene in the case, but criticised what he sees as institutional resistance, calling the process “a good old-fashioned establishment stitch-up.”
Although he confirmed he will not take the case to the Supreme Court, Harry remains frustrated with the outcome. “We’ve lost the appeal, but the other side have won in keeping me unsafe,” he said.
Despite stepping back from royal duties in 2020, the Duke maintains he has served his country for 35 years and still believes he is contributing to it. However, he insists he no longer wishes to engage in conflict. “There is way too much suffering… This, at the heart of it, is a family dispute.”
