Duke of Sussex Urges Review of Royal Protection Rules Despite Dropping Legal Fight
Prince Harry has revealed his next move following the dismissal of his UK security appeal, vowing to keep pressing the issue despite no longer pursuing legal action.
The Duke of Sussex appeared emotional in a BBC interview shortly after Friday’s ruling, acknowledging that he would not challenge the decision further, saying, “There was no way to win this through the courts.”
However, Harry signalled that he has not given up entirely. In a strongly-worded statement, he criticised the Executive Committee for the Protection of Royalty and Public Figures (RAVEC), accusing it of failing to apply its own procedures properly in his case. “I will be writing to the Home Secretary to ask her to urgently examine the matter and review the RAVEC process,” he stated.
While the Duke expressed a desire to reconcile with his family, his comments have reportedly upset King Charles, who is said to be angered by the implication that he has not shown concern for Meghan Markle or their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
