Modern values, hands-on parenting, and quiet strength define the Waleses' vision for the Crown
Prince William and Princess Kate are embracing a fresh, forward-thinking approach to royal life, with experts dubbing their style a “millennial monarchy” as they prepare for their eventual roles as King and Queen.
According to People magazine, the Prince and Princess of Wales are actively shaping a monarchy that resonates with younger generations — one rooted in tradition, but refreshed by empathy, family connection, and modern values.
The couple has made it a priority to balance their royal duties with family life, ensuring their children — Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis — are raised with a sense of both normalcy and responsibility.
“The Waleses have gone to great lengths to provide their three children with as normal a childhood as possible… but they’ve also long been instilling a broader sense of duty,” shared royal expert Richard Jerome.
One example came during a baby bank project in December 2023, where Princess Catherine involved her children in hands-on charity work. At the end of the visit, she reportedly turned to George and said:
“You can see how rewarding this kind of work is, knowing you are helping out others.”
Behind their polished public image, both William and Kate are seen as influential figures at the heart of the royal family. Former Palace communications chief Simon Lewis described the Princess of Wales as a “player at the centre of Team Windsor,” while royal author Valentine Low called her “strong-minded and strong-willed” behind the scenes.
By combining a sense of duty with relatable values and a grounded family life, William and Kate are setting the tone for a reign that feels both respectful of tradition and deeply in tune with a changing world.
