The royal deepens her environmental advocacy with new ambassador role following King's Foundation appointment
Princess Eugenie has made a proud statement following her latest appointment as she continues to build on her growing influence within the royal family and the global sustainability community.
According to Hello! Magazine, the Princess of York has been named a Global Ambassador for Thirty Six For Coral, a global art exhibition and auction dedicated to raising awareness and funds for coral reef conservation.
This new honour comes shortly after she was selected as a mentor for The King's Foundation’s 35 Under 35 network—a programme championed by King Charles to recognise and support the next generation of changemakers.
Known for her commitment to ocean and environmental causes, Eugenie balances her royal engagements with a full-time position as Associate Director at the art gallery Hauser & Wirth. She has long been vocal about the urgent need to protect the planet’s ecosystems.
Speaking about her new role, the mother-of-two shared:
“Despite occupying less than 1 per cent of the seabed, coral reefs support 25 per cent of all life in the ocean, and one billion people around the world depend on coral reefs for food and jobs.”
She continued:
“I’m pleased to be supporting Thirty Six For Coral, an important art exhibition that will help connect more people to the irreplaceable value of coral reefs, and raise essential funding to help protect and restore them for future generations.”
Princess Eugenie joins other high-profile supporters of the initiative, including Sienna Miller and Cara Delevingne. The exhibition will launch on 12 June 2024 during the 2025 UN Ocean Conference in Nice, France.
Her expanding role in charitable and environmental projects signals the royal family's growing confidence in her contributions, particularly in areas close to the King's heart. From mentoring young leaders to championing marine conservation, Princess Eugenie continues to carve out a meaningful path within the modern monarchy.
