Over 1,400 troops and touching tribute mark the monarch’s official birthday celebration
King Charles III led the Royal Family in a grand and heartfelt display on Saturday as they gathered on the Buckingham Palace balcony to witness the traditional RAF flypast, capping off the 2025 Trooping the Colour.
The King stood beside Queen Camilla as they watched a stunning aerial display featuring the Red Arrows, Chinook helicopters, and a historic Lancaster bomber—delighting thousands of spectators lining The Mall.
Joining them were the Prince and Princess of Wales with their three children—Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis—who stood confidently alongside senior royals for the monarch’s official birthday.
Among those on the balcony were the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, the Princess Royal and Sir Timothy Laurence, the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, and Prince Michael of Kent, reaffirming the strength of the royal core.
A poignant moment came as the royal children bowed their heads during a minute’s silence, paying tribute to the 270 lives lost in the recent Air India crash. Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, was seen gently guiding the young royals during the tribute from a separate balcony, joining the wider family in a united show of remembrance.
Earlier in the day, over 1,400 soldiers from the King’s Guards led a dazzling parade through central London, showcasing the monarchy’s centuries-old military tradition. King Charles and Queen Camilla waved to cheering crowds from an open carriage, while the Wales family travelled in a separate carriage—with Prince Louis seated between his parents and George and Charlotte positioned in front.
Princess Charlotte warmed hearts as she waved enthusiastically to the crowds, embodying the cheerful spirit of the day.
