Duke of Sussex accused of being ‘a shell of his former self’ amid growing distance from royal family and wife
Prince Harry appears increasingly isolated as Meghan Markle pursues her own ventures, reinforcing speculation of a growing professional – and possibly personal – divide between the couple.
Earlier this week, the Duke of Sussex made an unannounced visit to China to promote his sustainable travel firm, Travelyst. The timing raised eyebrows as it coincided with King Charles’ royal tour of Canada alongside Queen Camilla, amplifying concerns about Harry’s continued estrangement from the royal family.
Observers believe the move reflects not just his fractured royal ties but also his widening separation from Meghan. Journalist Esther Krakue told The Sun the trip was evidence that Harry “has nothing left,” pointing to his recent resignation from Sentebale and his diminished involvement with the Invictus Games.
Krakue said Travelyst now appears to be his last remaining platform, while Meghan actively reshapes her brand through her lifestyle venture As Ever, a new Netflix project, and a potential podcast revival. In contrast, Harry is seen as a diminished figure, overshadowed by his wife’s relentless drive.
“It feels like there’s nothing left,” Krakue remarked. “He’s just watching Meghan try one thing after another, taking the children to school, but there’s not much else there.”
Royal commentator Bronte Coy echoed the sentiment in News.com.au, describing Harry’s recent trajectory as “erratic.” She said he appears increasingly “lost,” preoccupied with court cases and lacking the strong charitable focus he was once known for.
