Kensington Palace shares new images as future King resumes royal duties
Prince William made a striking return to public life this week as he took on a new ceremonial role within the British Army.
On 4 June, Kensington Palace released fresh photos of the Prince of Wales during his first engagement as Colonel-in-Chief of the Army Air Corps.
William visited 4 Regiment Army Air Corps at Wattisham, following King Charles’s recent decision to formally pass the title to his eldest son. The announcement of the handover was made on 13 May 2024, when Buckingham Palace confirmed the King was entrusting William with this key responsibility — a position Charles himself had held for 32 years.
During the high-profile visit, the future King received an in-depth briefing on the regiment’s operations, marking his first official duty in the new role.
William’s reappearance comes amid heightened public interest, as discussions surrounding a surname change involving his estranged brother, Harry, continue to draw attention.
