Princess Eugenie Shares Emotional Message as Harry Sparks Excitement Among Britons

Princess of York highlights modern slavery fight following Duke of Sussex’s Invictus Games announcement

Princess Eugenie has released an emotional video message following her cousin Harry’s exciting announcement about the upcoming Invictus Games in Birmingham.

On 11 June, The Salvation Army and the Princess of York shared a joint Instagram post highlighting her recent visit to one of their safe houses for survivors of modern slavery.

Eugenie, co-founder of The Anti-Slavery Collective, used the opportunity to draw attention to the urgent need for greater awareness and support in combating modern slavery.

In a heartfelt video, she said: “I think it is really important that people are aware that human trafficking and modern slavery exist today.”

Reflecting on her journey in advocacy, Eugenie added: “I wanted to make a difference and educate people about [modern slavery], and The Salvation Army was a huge part of my learning of this subject.”

She stressed that victims deserve to be “looked after, helped and supported,” and praised The Salvation Army’s staff for their dedication. Calling for action, the Princess urged charities to collaborate in providing meaningful change.

During her visit, Eugenie was given a tour of the safe house, including its gym, multi-faith room, sensory space, and craft room. She also participated in a lino printing session with survivors currently receiving support.

Her statement came shortly after Harry revealed new details about the Invictus Games Birmingham, which is scheduled to take place in July 2027—an announcement that has generated excitement among Britons.
