Queen Camilla Gets Adorable Nickname from William and Kate’s Children

Royal grandchildren call their step-grandmother by playful name instead of ‘grandma’

Queen Camilla has been affectionately given a sweet nickname by William and Catherine’s children, offering a glimpse into the warm relationship they share.

Although William once had his reservations about his stepmother—similar to his brother, the Duke of Sussex—he now maintains a respectful bond with her. That cordial connection appears to have passed down to the next generation as well.

Rather than using the traditional titles such as “grandma” or “granny,” the children refer to their step-grandmother as “GaGa.” The lighthearted nickname came to light during a cheerful encounter at the 2016 Royal Variety Performance, where Camilla told Lady Gaga that her step-grandchildren called her “GaGa.”

“My own grandchildren call me GaGa,” she revealed. “I don’t know if it’s because they think I am! It is funny but still very sweet.”

The royal family is known for its unique pet names. For instance, the children used to call the late Queen Elizabeth “Gan-Gan,” while William, as a young child, called her “Gary” due to difficulty saying “grandma.”

Camilla’s special title reflects a personal and affectionate side of the royals, showing how family dynamics evolve even within the traditions of monarchy.
