Wales family to join King Charles and Queen Camilla in beloved Scottish retreat
Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis are gearing up for a memorable summer as they join their parents, Prince William and Princess Kate, for a cherished royal tradition in the Scottish Highlands.
The Wales family is expected to spend part of their summer break at Balmoral Castle, where they’ll reunite with King Charles and Queen Camilla. The annual retreat continues a beloved tradition once treasured by the late Queen Elizabeth II, who famously referred to Balmoral as “heaven.”
The royal siblings officially began their holiday after finishing the school term at Lambrook in Bracknell on July 5. While George, 11, and Charlotte, 10, made headlines with their appearance at the Wimbledon Men’s Final, youngest sibling Louis, 7, will now join his brother and sister for the family’s peaceful Scottish escape.
For Princess Kate, this year’s trip may be especially meaningful, as she eases back into public life following her ongoing cancer recovery. The calm and privacy of Balmoral are expected to offer the ideal setting for rest and quality time with family.
The children are due to return to Lambrook on September 3. As George prepares for his final year at prep school, speculation continues over whether he’ll follow in his father’s footsteps to Eton—or perhaps attend Marlborough, his mother’s alma mater.
With rolling hills, fresh Highland air, and time spent with grandparents, this royal summer promises to be one the children will never forget.
