Harry and Meghan Have No Plans to Leave Montecito or Return to Royal Life

Sussexes content with California lifestyle despite renewed speculation

Despite recent headlines suggesting the possibility of a royal reconciliation, Meghan Markle and Harry reportedly have no intention of leaving Montecito or returning to life within the royal fold.

Speculation was sparked after reports of a quiet meeting between representatives of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and an aide to King Charles, with many wondering whether the couple might be considering a return to the UK. However, insiders close to the Sussexes insist they are happy where they are.

“They're very settled in California and focused on raising their children,” a source told People. "It was a good first step. It's always better to be talking." But the source added there are no plans to relocate or return to royal duties.

Since stepping down as senior working royals in early 2020, Meghan and Harry have built a new life on the California coast. The couple have spoken openly about their contentment raising Archie and Lilibet in Montecito.

While Harry makes plan to continue visiting the UK for charitable commitments, concerns about security remain a major obstacle. In a previous interview with the BBC following a court ruling, he admitted, “I can't see a world in which I would be bringing my wife and children back to the U.K. at this point.”

He added, "I miss the U.K., I miss parts of the U.K., of course I do. I think it's really quite sad that I won't be able to show my children my homeland."

For now, Harry and Meghan appear firmly rooted in their Montecito lifestyle, with no plans to re-enter royal life or relocate.
