King Charles and Queen Camilla Say Farewell to President Macron with Touching Message

Buckingham Palace shares heartfelt send-off as French State Visit concludes with royal warmth

King Charles and Queen Camilla marked the end of French President Emmanuel Macron’s State Visit with a warm farewell message, capping off a successful diplomatic exchange between the UK and France.

On July 9, Buckingham Palace released a set of cheerful photos capturing the King and Queen bidding goodbye to President Macron and his wife, Brigitte Macron. Accompanying the images was a message shared in French—“au revoir et à la prochaine”—translated as “goodbye until next time,” reflecting the enduring bond between the two nations.

A spokesperson for the monarch confirmed the send-off, stating, “This morning, The King and Queen bid farewell to President Macron and Mrs. Macron.”

The visit began with a grand welcome at RAF Northolt, where Prince William and Catherine greeted the French President and First Lady. Later, they joined the King and Queen at the Royal Dais in Windsor for a formal ceremonial welcome.

The day culminated in a glittering State Banquet at Windsor Castle, where senior royals hosted the French delegation with full pomp and pageantry. In his keynote address during the evening, King Charles emphasised the importance of Anglo-French unity, highlighting shared history, culture, and values.

The warm farewell message and the successful engagements throughout the visit underscored the royal family's continuing role in diplomacy—strengthening relationships and fostering goodwill on the international stage.
