Princess of Wales Likely to Make Public Comeback at Beloved Tennis Event
As Wimbledon kicks off, anticipation is building around a possible appearance by the Princess of Wales, marking her first public outing since her absence from Royal Ascot.
According to GB News, Catherine is “very likely” to attend the championship, where she holds the honorary role of royal patron of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club.
Wimbledon holds personal meaning for the Princess — not just as a royal duty, but as a cherished family tradition. In 2019, her eldest son, Prince George, had a private lesson with tennis legend Roger Federer, arranged at the Middleton family’s Berkshire home.
Federer shared that George showed early promise, recalling, “At that stage it’s all about just touching the ball — it’s already good.” He added jokingly, “I think I have a little advantage… I’m the only player he’s ever met.”
Catherine’s passion for tennis has clearly influenced her children, with George and his sister Charlotte previously spotted watching matches. Prince Louis has yet to attend, but the family’s courtside tradition continues to grow — just as the Princess appears ready to return to the public eye.
