Princess Anne Honors Prince Philip with Grace and Poise at Sailing Celebration

The Princess Royal joins Sir Tim Laurence to mark a milestone at the Royal Ocean Racing Club

Princess Anne showcased her trademark strength and elegance as she carried out a meaningful royal engagement alongside her husband, Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence. The couple travelled to Cowes on the Isle of Wight to mark the 100th anniversary of the Royal Ocean Racing Club—an occasion deeply connected to the memory of her late father, Prince Philip.

The Duke of Edinburgh, known for his enduring love of sailing, would have been proud of his daughter’s tribute. Anne, who shares his passion for the sport, attended the celebration to honour both the club’s centenary and her father’s lasting legacy on the water.

Dressed in a cream blazer with navy piping and dark blue trousers, the Princess Royal looked polished and composed. Sir Tim complemented her appearance in a smart blue jacket, light trousers, white shirt, and a yellow patterned tie.

The couple also enjoyed a spectacular Red Arrows flypast, adding a ceremonial highlight to the day.

Princess Anne has long followed in her father’s footsteps, especially when it comes to sailing. In a past interview with Royal Yachting Association magazine, she described how meaningful the sport is to her.

“For me, it’s important to have time away and sailing really is time away,” she shared. “It gives you a complete change from anything you’re doing and from my perspective, having a boat on the west coast of Scotland gives me two things – time away and in an attractive area.”

Through her presence at the event, Anne once again demonstrated her unwavering dedication to royal duty and personal passion—blending family tribute with graceful public service.
