Princess Anne, widely respected for her tireless dedication to royal duties, is reportedly growing irritated with Prince William's limited involvement at Windsor Castle—despite her family living just minutes away.
According to The Times, a source close to the Princess Royal shared that Anne remains responsible for the majority of investiture ceremonies at Windsor, even though the Prince and Princess of Wales reside nearby at Adelaide Cottage with their children.
“She’s still doing most of the investitures at Windsor even though William lives there,” the source revealed. “It annoys her.”
Insiders suggest that Anne, known as the monarchy's hardest-working royal, is eager for William to take on more of the “bread and butter” engagements—the consistent, everyday appearances that form the backbone of royal service.
The remarks come as the royal family continues to operate under a slimmed-down structure, with several senior members managing intense schedules. Despite this, Anne once again topped the royal engagement tally, recording an impressive 474 appearances last year—even returning to duty swiftly after suffering a concussion in June.
