Royal fans charmed as Her Majesty jokes about cheeky dog Moley during flower show appearance
Queen Camilla brought smiles and laughter to the Sandringham Flower Show this week as she shared a candid and light-hearted update about the newest four-legged member of the royal household—her mischievous rescue dog, Moley.
While mingling with members of the public at the beloved Norfolk event, the Queen playfully confessed that Moley, believed to be a Jack Russell Terrier mix, has a knack for trouble. “She’s very naughty,” Camilla said with a grin. “I think I only have one shoe left!”
Adopted earlier this year, Moley has already left her paw prints on royal life, joining Camilla’s other beloved rescue dogs, Bluebell and Beth—both adopted from Battersea Dogs & Cats Home, where the Queen serves as Patron.
Camilla, well-known for her affection toward animals and her advocacy for rescue charities, often speaks fondly of her pets. Beth even made headlines in the past when she “assisted” in unveiling a commemorative plaque at a public event.
According to palace insiders, Moley has settled in well at Clarence House—though her lively personality has reportedly kept the Queen and King Charles on their toes. Described as “full of personality,” the little pup seems to be living up to her reputation.
The Queen’s light-hearted remarks added an extra touch of warmth to the day, as she and the King met with visitors, admired the blooming displays, and embraced the enduring spirit of the Sandringham Flower Show—now in its 141st year. The charming moment served as another reminder of the royal couple’s personal connection to the community and the joy they continue to share with the public.
