Beatrice, Eugenie Pulled Into Andrew Controversy After Fresh Allegations

Friends say York sisters are 'innocent victims' amid book's claims

The daughters of the Duke and Duchess of York are once again facing public scrutiny after historian Andrew Lownie's new book made claims that they have reignited interest in their parents' troubled history.

Princess Beatrice and her daughters are said to be displeased with recent headlines, which follow Lownie's allegation that they may have had greater involvement in questionable dealings than publicly known. Although this is not the first time they have hardened fallout from their parents' actions, sources say the sisters are particularly mindful of the impact on their own young children.

The York family has declined to comment, and according to those close to them, Sarah Ferguson and her daughters are not losing sleep over the matter. Still, friends of King Charles's nieces have spoken out, describing them as “innocent victims” and “collateral damage” in the Duke of York's latest scandal.

“They’ve stood by their parents in some of the most public and difficult situations,” one acquaintance told The Daily Beast. "They were told by the Firm to get jobs, and they did. They've always been aware of their privilege and tried to use it for good. It's unfair to attack them for making a living."
