Duke of York seen in low-profile outing amid looming book revelations
Prince Andrew has kept a noticeably low profile following a quiet yet pointed message from his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, just days before the release of a controversial biography.
Author Andrew Lownie's upcoming book The Rise and Fall of the Yorks promises to expose troubling details about the Duke of York, adding to ongoing scrutiny. Against this backdrop, Andrew was spotted leaving Royal Lodge on Sunday for his usual afternoon walk, apparently unfazed by the headlines.
Body language expert Judi James told the Mirror that Andrew appeared to have abandoned the air of arrogance he's often associated with. “It's less about what has changed in his body language here and more about what's missing,” she explained. "He appears to have lost the rounded-eyed, haunted expression. His frown has eased, and there's no sign of muscle tension in his face."
James suggested that the Duke seemed “less immersed in signals of status and entitlement” and perhaps more reflective, hinting at a subtle but notable shift in his demeanour. She added that her current approach to public appearances might even be “defiant” in the face of controversy.
Andrew's outing came shortly after Sarah Ferguson drew attention to her choice of shoes, which carried the inscription “Never complain, never explain.” Many saw this as a direct, understated response to criticism surrounding the York family.
