Duke of Sussex considers fresh venture after Sentebale split
Harry is exploring the possibility of launching a new charitable project with his long-time friend Prince Seeiso of Lesotho, but according to one royal expert, Meghan Markle is unlikely to be part of it.
Charlotte Griffiths, editor-at-large at the Mail on Sunday, told GB News that while discussions are still in the early stages, she believes Harry would want the initiative to be “his own thing” with Prince Seeiso.
The Duke stepped down as patron of Sentebale in March, alongside several trustees, after a falling-out with the charity's chairwoman, Dr Sophie Chandauka. The row led to allegations of bullying and harassment, which sources close to Harry dismissed as “completely baseless.”
A Charity Commission investigation released last week found no evidence of systemic misconduct but criticized both sides for making their disputes public.
Harry co-founded Sentebale with Prince Seeiso in 2006 in memory of Princess Diana. Over the years, his fundraising efforts have been key to the charity's success, including a £1.1 million donation from Spare royalties and £740,000 raised through a celebrity polo match.
While nothing has been finalized, Harry is said to be weighing up either creating a new organization or working with existing groups to support children in Lesotho. For now, he and Prince Seeiso remain in “idea mode,” but observers say the plans are worth watching closely.
