Inside William and Catherine’s Royal Residences as They Prepare for a New Move

The Wales family is set to begin a fresh chapter at Windsor’s Forest Lodge

William and Catherine are preparing to make a new move later this year, settling into Forest Lodge in Windsor Great Park. The relocation will give the Wales family access to three royal homes: their new Windsor base, Kensington Palace in London, and Anmer Hall in Norfolk.

The couple, who moved into Adelaide Cottage in Windsor with their children in 2022, are now trading up to a much larger property. A Kensington Palace spokesperson confirmed to GB News: “The Wales family will move house later this year.”

A “Forever Home” in Windsor

Forest Lodge, a Grade II-listed property set in the heart of Windsor Great Park, is already being called the family’s “forever home.” It offers significantly more space than Adelaide Cottage, with features including a ballroom, Venetian-style windows, tennis court, and sweeping grounds.

Their years at Adelaide Cottage were marked by challenges, from the passing of Queen Elizabeth II shortly after their arrival to the recent cancer diagnoses of both King Charles and the Princess of Wales. Insiders suggest that the family sees Forest Lodge as a chance to move forward and create new memories.

Signs of Change

Preparations are already underway. Gardeners have been planting shrubs, builders are carrying out renovations, and new privacy screens have been installed around the grounds. The property, last updated in 2001, is also conveniently close to Lambrook School, where the children are enrolled.

Personal Touches from Catherine

The move and rent are being covered privately by the family, with no taxpayer funds involved. Catherine has reportedly taken a hands-on role in shaping their new home. Earlier this summer, she was seen browsing surplus royal furniture in a Windsor Estate storehouse, reportedly selecting a 24-seater dining table to fit the grand new rooms.

“This house is much larger than Adelaide Cottage,” a source explained. “There is a dining room and drawing room, which require substantial pieces of furniture.”
