King Charles Faces More Tension as Author Plans Book on Prince Philip

After targeting Prince Andrew, biographer sets sights on the late Duke of Edinburgh

King Charles is bracing for more unwelcome headlines, as another senior royal is set to become the focus of a new tell-all book.

Recently, Prince Andrew has dominated coverage following Andrew Lownie’s explosive release Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York. The biography made serious claims about the Duke of York and his former wife Sarah Ferguson, including Andrew’s links to Jeffrey Epstein, alleged inappropriate behaviour, and a difficult reputation with staff.

Now, Lownie has confirmed that his next subject will be the late Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. Speaking to the Mail, the author revealed: “I’ve put in all the FOIs [Freedom of Information requests] for a Prince Philip book already.”

He added that much of Philip’s private correspondence was reportedly destroyed after his death, but he is determined to piece together the story. Lownie has already gained access to the Duke’s school report, which had been sealed for 100 years.

“Times are changing; they do need to start declassifying more and more records for the royals. People expect more transparency from the monarchy now,” Lownie explained.

Although it is too early to know what direction the book will take, the project could stir new controversy around the late Duke’s legacy—something that may add to King Charles’s growing concerns about the monarchy’s image.
