Royal couple attend Sunday service at Balmoral’s Crathie Kirk
King Charles made a rare appearance with Queen Camilla this weekend as the couple attended Sunday service at Crathie Kirk, the church long favoured by the Royal Family while staying at Balmoral.
It was the first time the pair have been spotted together in public this summer. Charles looked cheerful as he drove his Audi to the service, waving to onlookers, while Camilla smiled warmly at well-wishers outside the church. Both chose smart attire for the outing, appearing relaxed as they joined the congregation.
The King and Queen are currently in Scotland for their annual summer break, which was pushed back from August due to VJ Day commemorations.
Their outing comes against the backdrop of fresh reports about the future of Buckingham Palace. According to the Mail, Prince William is unlikely to live there when he becomes King. Instead, the historic landmark could be permanently opened to the public and reserved for official state occasions.
