Actress and photographer aims to rival Gwyneth Paltrow’s Goop
Koo Stark, the former girlfriend of Prince Andrew, is returning to public life with plans to launch her own wellness brand designed to compete with Gwyneth Paltrow’s Goop.
The actress and photographer has applied to the Government’s Intellectual Property Office to trademark a business under the name “Kathleen Norris Stark trading as Koo Stark.”
Her brand will cover a wide range of offerings, from crystal therapies, tarot card readings, and aura photography to yoga, meditation, cosmetics, and wellness products. Among them are “Koo Stark yoni eggs,” intimate items similar to Paltrow’s much-discussed Jade Egg, which sells for nearly £50.
Stark’s reinvention comes decades after her high-profile relationship with the Duke of York. The two first met in 1981, and Andrew was even said to have considered proposing before family pressure ended the romance in 1983.
Earlier this year, the 69-year-old made headlines when she filed a £190 million lawsuit against the producers of Star Wars. Stark appeared as Camie Marstrap, a friend of Luke Skywalker, in A New Hope (1977), but her scenes were cut. She claims her intellectual property rights are being misused as the footage has resurfaced online.
Beyond her acting past, Stark has built a career as a photographer, with her work exhibited in galleries and tied to various arts and charitable projects.
Prince Andrew, meanwhile, went on to marry Sarah Ferguson in 1986, though their marriage ended in divorce a decade later.
