Prince of Wales honors wildlife protectors with emotional tribute while vacationing with Princess Kate and children
While enjoying a summer retreat in Scotland with Princess Catherine and their children, Prince William took a moment to mark an important global cause—highlighting the courage and sacrifice of frontline conservation workers.
On July 31, the Prince of Wales shared a heartfelt message in honor of World Ranger Day via Instagram, accompanied by clips from his BBC Earth docuseries Guardians, which shines a light on the unsung heroes protecting the planet’s wildlife.
“Rangers protect more than wildlife – they protect our future,” the caption read, posted jointly by the official @princeandprincessofwales account and United for Wildlife, the conservation initiative William launched in 2014.
The tribute continued: “To mark World Ranger Day, we’re sharing the voices of extraordinary rangers from our Guardians series. Through courage, sacrifice, and deep knowledge of the landscapes they protect, these frontline conservationists are leading a movement for community-driven, transformative change.”
“Each story is a reminder that conservation begins with people – with Rangers at the heart of this. See their stories. Share their powerful message. Stand with those protecting our planet.”
The message comes as William and Catherine spend time at Balmoral Castle with their children—Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis—continuing the royal family’s long-standing tradition of retreating to Scotland during the summer months.
Even while on holiday, the Prince of Wales remains dedicated to his environmental mission, using his platform to spotlight those making a lasting impact on the future of the planet.
