Queen Camilla Admits to ‘Terrible’ Problem at Her Home

Monarch opens up about beekeeping troubles during York appearance

Queen Camilla has revealed she is facing an unexpected battle at her private home.

The 78-year-old monarch, who briefly stepped away from Balmoral to attend the second day of the Ebor Festival in York, told Harry and Seline Silk of Knavesmire Nectar that wasps have become a major nuisance around her hives.

“My bees keep swarming. They’ve been terrible,” she admitted, before confirming she currently keeps eight hives at Ray Mill House in Wiltshire.

During the exchange, Camilla was presented with a jar of honey and spoke warmly about her passion for beekeeping, a hobby that has grown in recent years. She has often championed honey producers and countryside traditions, making her troubles with wasps all the more relatable.

While in York, the Queen also unveiled a plaque at the racecourse to mark the Juddmonte International being named the World’s Best Race of 2024 by the Longines World Racing Awards. A patron of the course since June, she looked elegant in a pale blue coat and wide-brimmed hat, later revealing a floral dress with puff sleeves and a pleated skirt.

Her accessories included a pearl and diamond necklace, pearl earrings, slim gold and silver bracelets, and a woven beige Bottega Veneta handbag paired with suede kitten heels.
