King Charles III and Queen Camilla ‘Living Separate Lives’ Behind Palace Walls

Report claims Camilla spends most of her time at her own home in Wiltshire

King Charles III and Queen Camilla are reportedly leading “largely separate lives” despite maintaining a united public front during the King’s cancer treatment, according to a new report.

Sources told Radar Online that while the couple continue to appear together for official duties, they spend much of their private time apart. Camilla, 78, is said to spend most of her time at her $1.2 million home, Ray Mill House in Wiltshire, while Charles retreats to Highgrove House or Clarence House.

“They are putting on a united front in public, especially because Charles is ill, but behind the scenes it’s a very different picture,” an insider claimed. “They are divorced in everything but name. It’s a marriage of appearances and public relations optics at this stage.”

The couple are expected to host Donald Trump during a state visit this week, but sources suggest their separate living arrangements have become routine.

Camilla’s attachment to Ray Mill has long been known. The property, which includes a swimming pool and sprawling gardens, was purchased in 1994 following her divorce from Andrew Parker Bowles. Though she moved into royal residences after marrying Charles in 2005, she has continued to use Ray Mill as a base for her children and grandchildren.

Photographer Chris Jackson highlighted her connection to the home when he shared her birthday portraits this summer, taken at Ray Mill with her rescue dog Moley. He described her as “happy and relaxed at home in Ray Mill,” reinforcing its role as her personal sanctuary.

Royal commentators say the couple’s arrangement stems from an understanding they reached long before their marriage. Charles was based at Highgrove, while Camilla made it clear she would keep her Wiltshire home. “At first, it was what kept the marriage balanced,” one source said. “But now it seems less like a mutual decision and more like proof of how separate their lives have become.”
