Princess Catherine pushes for reconciliation with Harry during royal talks
King Charles has held private talks at Balmoral with Prince William, Catherine, and senior advisers ahead of Harry’s return to the UK. The Duke of Sussex is expected in London on September 8 for the WellChild Awards, sparking speculation of a possible reunion with his father.
According to reports, what appeared to be a family holiday in Scotland was used by the King to discuss weighty issues, particularly Harry’s role within the royal fold. One insider said: “On the surface, it looks like a normal family holiday, but in reality, there are huge decisions being made that could change the family forever.”
The meeting was kept small, involving only the King, Queen, William, Catherine, and a few trusted advisers. William made it clear he believes the monarchy must slim down and stay focused on a smaller group of working royals. That stance makes it highly unlikely that Harry and Meghan would ever return as active members of the Firm. Reports suggest William has even raised the possibility of removing their remaining royal privileges, including HRH status and their children’s titles.
Catherine, however, is said to be conflicted. While she supports her husband’s vision for the monarchy, she is wary of shutting the door on reconciliation with Harry altogether. Known for her role as a peacemaker, she worries that cutting ties completely could make future healing impossible.
“She doesn’t want William’s decisions to burn bridges with Harry forever,” a source explained. “If the choice is to cut Harry out entirely, she knows there’s no coming back from that.”
