Fans notice odd laugh track and debate claims over royal dress code rules
Meghan Markle’s latest interview with Emily Chang has sparked a mix of intrigue and debate after viewers spotted what some believe was an added laugh track.
The conversation, which aired on YouTube last month as part of Bloomberg’s The Circuit podcast, included a lighthearted moment where the Duchess of Sussex joked, “Age helps, I will be 44!” Both women shared a laugh, but what caught viewers off guard was an unusually loud chuckle that didn’t seem to come from either Meghan or the host.
One viewer pointed out, “This laugh did not come from Emily Chang. Her body does not move.” Another suggested the sound was “an extra laugh to make Meghan seem funnier.”
Beyond the editing debate, Meghan’s jewellery caught Chang’s attention during their candid exchange, as the Duchess promoted season two of her Netflix series With Love, Meghan. Meghan also took a moment to clear up whether she prefers to use Sussex or Markle as her surname.
The interview touched on her time as a working royal, including her frustration with one dress code expectation: being asked to wear nude tights during official visits. But royal commentator Jennie Bond dismissed Meghan’s version of events, saying the protocol was never as strict as the Duchess implied.
