Virginia Giuffre’s family calls for justice as Epstein files resurface
The Duke of York could face fresh challenges as pressure grows for the US government to release more files linked to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
While staying with family in Balmoral, Prince Andrew’s name has resurfaced in the debate after Sky Roberts, the brother of his late accuser Virginia Giuffre, delivered a moving statement in Washington DC. Standing with other survivors of Epstein’s abuse, he vowed that his sister’s fight would continue despite her death in April.
“Virginia is not only our sister, she was a warrior, a survivor, and even though she is no longer with us in body, her voice, her courage, and her fight live on through every one of us here today,” Roberts told those gathered at the Capitol.
Giuffre was one of the most outspoken survivors to expose Epstein’s trafficking network, repeatedly naming Andrew among her alleged abusers when she was a teenager. The Duke has consistently denied all allegations.
The push for greater transparency is also gaining political backing. Conservative lawmaker Marjorie Taylor Greene stressed the importance of releasing the documents, saying: “The truth needs to come out, and the government holds the truth. This should never happen in America, and it should never be a political issue that divides us.”
For Andrew, the renewed calls threaten to place his name back under public scrutiny, with campaigners arguing that the unsealed files could shed new light on both Epstein and those in his circle.
