Prince Harry Revisits UK Charity for First Time Since Megxit

Duke of Sussex returns to Imperial College London to support blast injury research

Prince Harry has returned to the UK to check in on a cause close to his heart for the first time since stepping back from royal duties.

On Wednesday, September 10, the Duke of Sussex visited the Royal British Legion Centre for Blast Injury Studies at Imperial College London, a centre he helped launch in 2013. His last visit there was in 2019, when he attended its Blast Injury Conference as a working royal.

Harry was welcomed by his friend and Invictus Games athlete David Henson before touring the centre’s labs. Researchers showed him their latest work on treating blast and crush injuries, including efforts to improve survival and quality of life for children injured in conflict and disaster zones.

He also learned about the centre’s collaboration with Save the Children through the Paediatric Blast Injury Partnership, which trains healthcare workers in war zones to care for young amputees.

After the tour, Harry joined a roundtable discussion on how to strengthen global responses to conflict-related trauma, focusing on mental health support and medical evacuation. Staff emphasised that embedding trauma care, psychosocial support, and other services directly within affected communities is key to building resilience and improving recovery outcomes.
