Duke of Sussex continues plans despite his brother’s objections
Prince William remains deeply uneasy about Harry’s next steps following a significant meeting with King Charles. Despite efforts to bring the King and the Duke of Sussex together in a “public show of unity,” William is said to be strongly opposed to his brother’s return to the royal fold.
A source close to Harry told The Telegraph that he has no intention of rejoining the institution: “He’s genuinely very happy in California. His wife and children are there; his life is there.”
Even so, Harry intends to maintain regular ties with Britain, travelling back two or three times a year to support his longstanding patronages and charities. His most recent trip included attending the WellChild Awards, an event he is determined not to miss in the future. According to insiders, his visits are “driven by requests” and causes he continues to champion.
Reports of a potential “half-in, half-out” arrangement have been firmly dismissed by Palace officials, who stressed that King Charles will uphold Queen Elizabeth II’s decision that no such role exists within the monarchy.
