Future king reportedly blindsided as father meets younger son in private
King Charles III is said to have left his eldest son, Prince William, deeply hurt after arranging a private meeting with Prince Harry without informing him. The monarch reportedly hosted Harry for tea at Clarence House on 10 September during Harry’s visit to London, catching William off guard.
According to Rob Shuter’s ShutterScoop, Charles intentionally planned the reunion quietly to prevent any interference from William. The Prince of Wales allegedly learned about the headline-making conversation at the last minute and had not been consulted beforehand.
An insider claimed William believed his father had returned from Balmoral solely for cancer treatment and official duties, adding that, “If William had been consulted, he would have tried to block it. That’s why Charles went ahead quietly.”
Reports suggest Charles made the special trip from Balmoral to see Harry as part of an effort to move toward reconciliation. However, the monarch reportedly set conditions, asking Harry to keep the contents of their discussion private.
While this meeting marked a tentative step in mending ties between father and son, experts say the rift between William and Harry remains deep, and no reunion between the brothers is expected anytime soon.
