Prince Harry Gets Mixed Signals Amid Private Meeting With Father
Prince William is reportedly pulling away from King Charles III’s efforts to mend family ties, just as the monarch takes tentative steps toward reconciling with Prince Harry.
Charles recently made headlines after hosting Harry at Clarence House for a private meeting over tea. While neither side shared details, both Buckingham Palace and the Duke of Sussex’s team confirmed the long-awaited reunion.
However, while relations between Charles and Harry seem to be thawing, William appears to be distancing himself from these reconciliation plans. Speaking to The Sun, royal commentator Daisy McAndrew said the Prince of Wales “doesn't want anything to do with Harry.”
“Baby steps,” she added about the Charles–Harry meeting, “but I still think William’s a big problem. He doesn’t feel comfortable with this rift being fixed, and I don’t think he would have wanted this meeting to have gone ahead.”
Royal experts suggest it remains uncertain whether William and the Princess of Wales will ever welcome back the Duke of Sussex and Meghan Markle into the royal fold — and for now, the chances seem slim.
